The survey, conducted this summer, revealed that a jaw-dropping 97% of men in New Orleans admitted their feet reek after just a couple of hours of walking. Whether locals or tourists, the city’s scorching sidewalks, jazz parades, and sweltering humidity seem to brew the perfect storm for some nose-pinching aromas.
This year has been one for the record books, with New Orleans facing relentless, record-breaking heat waves. The combo of sweat, street festivals, and never-ending second lines may have sealed the deal for the Crescent City’s less-than-glamorous win.
Miami trailed just behind with 95% of men confessing to stinky soles, but even South Beach couldn’t out-funk New Orleans. “I couldn’t believe how fast it happened,” one visitor laughed. “Two hours into walking Bourbon Street, and I was apologizing to my own sneakers.”
Locals weren’t too surprised. One man said: “Baby, it’s hot. Everyone sweats here — from your head down to your toes,” said one French Quarter bartender. “And honey, them toes are the worst part!”
