San Francisco is about to get sweaty.
The 43rd annual Folsom Street Fair is coming to SoMa on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 11 AM to 6 PM, and this year’s crowd is expected to bring plenty of leather, boots, athletic gear, and — for one very specific group of fans — some seriously well-worn men’s socks.
For guys who like big men’s feet, sweaty sneakers and seriously stinky socks, Folsom weekend has long been the kind of environment where you never quite know what — or who — you’re going to encounter.
And this year, foot fans are paying attention.
👣 The Big-Foot Crowd Is Coming
Folsom isn’t exactly known for playing it safe when it comes to fashion.
Leather? Absolutely.
Boots? Everywhere.
Gear? Of course.
Men who have spent the day walking around San Francisco in heavy footwear? That’s where things get interesting.
A full day on your feet can mean hours inside sneakers, boots, athletic socks and other footwear. Add September sunshine, dancing, walking between events and the general energy of Folsom weekend, and you’ve got plenty of opportunities for men’s feet and socks to become decidedly less fresh as the afternoon goes on.
For foot and sock enthusiasts, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
That’s the fun.
🧦 Stinky Socks Are Having Their Moment
There has been growing interest among foot enthusiasts in men who aren’t afraid of letting their natural foot odor happen.
No fancy sprays.
No perfectly fresh socks.
No pretending those sneakers haven’t been worn all day.
Just real men’s feet after real hours of activity.
And Folsom is an especially interesting setting because people come dressed for the occasion. Athletic socks, boots, sneakers and leather footwear are all part of the visual mix.
By late afternoon?
Let’s just say some socks may have had a very busy rank day.
Six – Ten Hours of Walking Can Change Everything
The fair runs from 11 AM until 6 PM, giving attendees plenty of time to rack up some serious funk.
That means a guy who arrives with freshly washed feet and rank socks in the morning could have a completely different situation several hours later.
Walking.
Standing.
Dancing.
Heat.
Shoes.
Sweat.
Repeat.
For people who specifically enjoy the natural smell of men’s feet and well-worn socks, the end of the day may be considerably more interesting than the beginning.
Where the Foot Fans Should Be Looking
The appeal isn’t necessarily about finding the biggest crowd.
It’s about finding the guys who have clearly been putting their feet to work all day.
Look for the men in:
- Well-worn athletic sneakers
- Heavy boots
- Black athletic socks
- Leather footwear
- Gym-style shoes
- Guys who’ve been walking around since the morning
The longer they’re on their feet, the more interesting the afternoon can become.
And unlike a staged photo or freshly packaged pair of socks, there’s something different about the real-world, end-of-the-day version.
🌉 Folsom Weekend Is Almost Here
Folsom Street Fair has been a major San Francisco gathering for decades, and organizers describe the event as a celebration centered on the city’s kink, leather and alternative sexuality communities.
For men’s-foot and sock enthusiasts, that makes the 2026 edition particularly intriguing.
Sunday, September 27.
11 AM–6 PM.
San Francisco.
Thousands of people.
A whole lot of footwear.
And somewhere in that crowd?
There will almost certainly be plenty of guys who’ve spent the entire day walking around in the same pair of socks.
For some people, that’s just another day at Folsom.
For foot fans?
