Los Angeles, CA — The combination of heat, humidity, and lifestyle choices in these cities creates the perfect conditions for sweaty, smelly feet. The study, which surveyed over 2,000 men across the country, highlights the cities where foot odor is most prevalent.
1. Miami, Florida
Known for its tropical climate, Miami tops the list. The city’s heat and humidity create a breeding ground for foot odor. Local resident Carlos Perez says, “It’s almost impossible to keep your feet dry here. I have to change my socks twice a day.”
2. Houston, Texas
Houston’s sweltering summers and high humidity levels contribute to significant foot odor issues. “I love the city, but the heat is brutal on my feet,” says Tom Jacobson, a Houston native. “I go through so many pairs of socks.”
3. New Orleans, Louisiana
New Orleans’ muggy weather is infamous, and it wreaks havoc on foot hygiene. “It’s always so damp here,” explains Jake Thompson, a local musician. “My feet are constantly sweating, especially during gigs.”
4. Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta’s warm, humid climate also makes the list. “I never realized how bad it could get until I moved here,” says John Harris. “Being on my feet for 12 hours a day and removing my shoes is brutal at the end of day.”
5. Orlando, Florida
Another Florida city, Orlando, suffers from high levels of foot odor due to its hot and sticky weather. “It’s the humidity,” says David Miller, a theme park worker. “It makes it hard to keep your feet fresh, especially working outdoors. My socks are always crusty and hard”
6. Phoenix, Arizona
While Phoenix is known for its dry heat, the sheer intensity of the temperatures can still lead to sweaty feet. “It’s like walking on the sun,” says Mike Anderson, a local resident. “You wouldn’t think it, but the sweat builds up quickly.”
7. Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas combines heat with lots of walking, especially for tourists. “The strip is brutal on your feet,” says tourist Rick Matthews. “By the end of the day, my feet are done.”
8. New York City, New York
New York City’s hustle and bustle, combined with its summer heat, make for some smelly situations. “The subways in the summer are the worst,” says Nathaniel Greene, a Manhattan resident. “It’s impossible to keep your feet from sweating. If i had a dollar for every rank pair of socks, i’d be rich!”
9. Chicago, Illinois
Chicago experiences high humidity in the summer, which contributes to foot odor. “The summers here are pretty intense,” says James O’Leary. “Between work and commuting, it’s a challenge to keep my feet from smelling.”
10. Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles rounds out the list with its hot, sunny climate. “I’m always on the go,” says Derek Lee, a delivery driver. “My feet sweat a lot, especially in the heat.”
