Norwalk, CA — Standing tall at 6’4” and 215 lbs with a massive size 15 shoe, Kyle has always left an impression. But these days, it’s not his height that’s causing the problem—it’s his socks.
Kyle works two grueling jobs: construction during the day and security at night. Construction makes his feet sweat like no other and after 10 hours his feet are done. Then he does security for about 4 or 5 hours, walking and patrolling office buildings DTLA. After putting in nearly 16 hours, he doesn’t get home until around 8 p.m.—exhausted, sweaty, and smelling less than fresh. And that’s when the fights start.
“My wife says she never sees me anymore, and when I do come home, she’s mad about the pile of stinky socks I leave behind and the rank ones I bring with me,” Kyle told us. “She says washing them is like wrestling a skunk.”
With his marriage on the brink, Kyle hatched a plan that’s equal parts desperate and genius: sell the socks instead of washing them.
“It was a buddies idea, after he joked about selling them. I figured—why not? I can take care of two problems at once,” Kyle said. “She doesn’t have to deal with the stink anymore, and I can earn some extra cash on the side. More money means less working hours, and that means more time with her.”
Kyle plans on selling his socks starting early September through end of October.
